Folkwang Dance Studio (FTS) will present a public preview of Susanne Linke’s famous choreography ‘Women’s Ballet’ (Frauenballett) at 8 pm on February 27th, 2010 at the Neue Aula building of Folkwang University. The actual premiere is scheduled for March 4th as part of the 2nd Biennial Dance Workshop, which will be held at Folkwang University from March 2nd to 8th.

Susanne Linke created ‘Women’s Ballet’ in 1981 for the Folkwang Dance Studio: at the time, she was the artistic director of Folkwang’s dance ensemble (1975 to 1985). The piece found immediate success, the ensemble took it on a world tour, and a number of other ensembles added it to their own programmes. During 1992/93, Susanne Linke revisited the ‘Women’s Ballet’ with dancers at the Folkwang Dance Studio. The shows on February 27th and March 4th are current new productions of the piece.
